SPARSH Hospital is a tertiary referral centre for complex trauma services and deals with the management of primary trauma, neglected trauma, complications of primary management of trauma, polytrauma and mass accidents. The Trauma team includes intensivists, orthopaedic surgeons, general surgeons, neurosurgeons and specialised nurses. All members of the Trauma team are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) resulting in patients being efficiently triaged and managed in the emergency department. The Trauma team surgeons and physicians are highly experienced in early resuscitation, emergency management of trauma to all parts of the body and definitive surgical interventions. The anaesthetists and intensivists are specialised in pain relief and administer regional anesthetic blocks on arrival to control pain.
In addition, our presence in the Narayana Health City with 1000 nursing professionals and 500 doctors allows us access to a wide range of specialist doctors and diagnostic facilities.
The 24-hour trauma care facility is manned by trained medical and the paramedical staff and has a state-of-the-art ambulance service with advanced communication systems to allow monitoring of the injured persons from moment of primary contact and during transit to the emergency ward. The trauma transport team is well trained in primary resuscitation at the accident site, safe extrication and transport to the Hospital. We are also linked to the EMRI Ambulance (108) system. In addition, the trauma service has access to an air ambulance/helicopter facility, a strategically located casualty, dedicated resuscitation room, a preliminary cleaning area, special lifts to transfer patients directly to the operation suites and advanced diagnostic facilities.
SPARSH Hospital manages a trauma resuscitation centre in the nearby town of Hosur in collaboration with the Government of Tamilnadu as a public private initiative. Injured patients undergo primary resuscitation and stabilization at this centre prior to transfer to a hospital of their choice.
