Pathlology is an unique medical specialty in that the pathology team typically do not see patients directly but rather serve as consultants to other physicians. However the importance of this sub speciality is just as vital in patient care as any other sub speciality. Laboratory tests are an integral part of the workup of any patient to help the physician in diagnosis & treatment. The Pathology and Lab Medicine Services Unit at Sparsh Hospital serves patients of all age groups. It includes two major services - Anatomic Pathology and Clinical pathology Anatomic pathology is responsible for all anatomical specimens of surgical pathology and cystopthology. Clinical pathology consists of the following sections:
Clinical Chemistry: offers a wide variety of laboratory tests and is also open around the clock.
Clinical Microbiology: offers detection of microbes and sensitivity to various antibiotics.
Haemotology: Services include automated and manual blood counts, coagulation strides, flow cyfometry and body fluid analysis.
All these sections are open around the clock
In addition to this this Parasitology looks after services investigating parasitic infections Serology offers a wide variety of tests that help in diagnosis of infections and antigen- antibody reactions. The unit is run with the objective of building an enduring reputation for delivering a service for superior quality, speed of service and patient convenience.
