Krishnagiri: The Krishnagiri district administration, in association with the Bangalore-based Sparsh hospital has established a Trauma Resuscitation Centre on the NH-7 at Hosur under public-private partnership. The centre has been established at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh in a building, which was previously functioning as Government Leprosy Home, Collector Santhosh Babu told The Hindu . Public had contributed more than Rs. 20 lakh to renovate the building. The Hosur Small and Tiny Industries Association have given an X-ray unit for the centre. The objective of the centre is to provide immediate treatment to the injured during the Golden hour and transfer them to the nearest hospital. The centre has a resuscitation and treatment room specifically designed to receive patients with multiple injuries. As a result, the morbidity is reduced. The administration has initiated steps to create a blood bank at the centre to treat the injured. Signboards would be installed along the NH-7 from Krishnagiri to Hosur to provide information to the public, Mr. Babu added. Chairman of Sparsh hospital Dr. Sharan Patil said that a team of three orthopaedicians and eight staff nurses from the hospital have been deployed at the centre to cater to injured round-the-clock. An ambulance with video connectivity has also been stationed at the centre. The relatives can take the patient to any hospital after the patient is stabilised. Orthopaedicians at the centre and the base hospital in Bangalore can monitor the condition of the patient in the ambulance through video connectivity. The facility can be used by dialling 98941 00088, 98943 00088, 99440 88881 on any GSM mobile phone.
