Orthopedics drprashanttejwani@sparshhospital.com Consultant Dr. Prashant Tejwani, a young orthopaedic surgeon, completed his M.S. from S.M.S Medical College at Jaipur in April 2000. For one year he worked at Udai Clinic, Hyderabad with Dr. Ved Prakash and Dr. Raghav Dutt, where he got his training in pediatric orthopedics and spine surgeries. Later he joined Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences as registrar for three years. His interest in academics and teaching persuaded him to continue in the institute, where he was appointed as assistant professor in the department of the Orthopedics. His interest in sports medicine and Arthroscopic surgeries made him to attend the basic and advanced Arthroscopic courses at various institutes in the country. He was an observer with Dr. Anant Joshi (Bombay) and Dr. Bharat Modi (Baroda) for Arthroscpic Knee and shoulder surgeries at different occasions. He has attended various CME and symposium on knee and shoulder arthroscopy organized by Indian Arthroscopy society and Indo-European Arthroscpoy foundation. He joined as a Sports medicine Consultant at SPARSH Hospital in May 2007. He is performing Arthroscopic surgeries like ACL reconstruction, PCL reconstruction, multiple ligament reconstruction, Shoulder and ankle arthroscopy. He is incharge of Limb Reconstruction unit with plastic surgeons (Dr Ashok Koul) where he is performing surgeries for congenital deformities gap nonunion and complicated trauma with the help of Ilizarov technique. He is principle investigator for chondrocyt stem cell research project in collaboration with Narayana Nethralaya which involves chondrocyte culture for the cartilagr defects.
