DA, DNB (Anaesthesiology)
Dr. Ravi Narayanan is working as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist in SPARSH Hospital. After completing his diploma in Anaesthesia from J.J.M.M.C Davangere, he pursued the DNB course from the well known Medical Trust Hospital, Cochin where he spent 2 years. On his return to Bangalore he spent one year working at Sagar Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. He gained wide experience in trauma anaesthesia and neurosurgery. To further improve his skills in neuro anaesthesia, he worked for a year at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS); one of the premier institutes for neurosciences in the country. On completion of his one year super specialty training in neuro anaesthesia, he underwent a short fellowship course in trauma and regional anaesthesia at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore.
He is actively involved in the management of critical cases in the intensive care unit. Dr. Ravi has keen interest in regional anaesthesia and difficult airway scenarios. Apart from the management of routine cases in the OR, he is also skilled in the performance of a variety of nerve blocks in the upper and lower limbs. He is also involved in a teaching programme for postgraduate students that conducts ATLS and BLS training classes for nursing and paramedics. He was actively involved in organizing and conducting Ultrasound Guided Nerve Block Workshop for RSACP National anaesthesia conference held in October of 2010. To his credit, he has also delivered many scientific lectures and presentations at a national level.
