With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Dr. Ramesh B.R is a seasoned medical professional with a robust background in pulmonology, sleep medicine, and research.
He boasts of a comprehensive 30-year work history post completing his postgraduate studies. His expertise extends to independently managing both outpatient and inpatient care, showcasing proficiency in intricate pulmonary procedures such as Bronchoscopy, EBUS and Medical Thoracoscopy. Additionally, he excels in the interpretation of Polysomnography and sleep study data.
He has extensive experience in the role of a consultant at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Manipal Northside Hospital and Columbia Asia Referral Hospital.
As a Co-Investigator, he has actively participated in Pfizer’s PMS studies focusing on antibiotics MAGNEX, AZITHROMYCIN vs LEVOFLOXACIN, and MEROPENEM for pulmonary infections.
As part of his professional engagements, he has been actively involved as an invited chairperson and panellist in regional and state pulmonary conferences and webinars. Additionally, he has served as a judge for oral paper and poster presentations at state pulmonary conferences, as well as an invited speaker at various webinars, regional CME’s, and workshops organized by IMA, CGHS, FPAI, and IAA. Furthermore, he has also been a clinical teacher for DNB trainees.
His flair for leadership is evident from the positions he has held such as the Secretary for the Indian Academy of Allergy and the Honorary Treasurer for the Karnataka branch of the IMA. He currently holds the position of the Vice President at the Indian Academy of Allergy.
Dr. Ramesh’s professional passion lies in COPD, Chronic Respiratory Failure, Non-Invasive Ventilator Care, Asthma/Allergy, MDR TB, Respiratory Sleep Disorders, and Bronchoscopy procedures.
