Anaesthesiology FAQs

With the advent of thinner spinal needles, the chances of developing chronic back pain is highly unlikely.

The anaesthesia provided for each surgery is tailor-made to the patient and procedure. The dosages are calculated based on the patient’s weight, age, general condition, comorbidities and various other factors. Hence, the risk of overdosage is unlikely.

1. Disclose your medical conditions and medications for the same to your anaesthesiologist during the preoperative assessment. 2. Mention any allergies to medications. 3. Follow the instructions of the anaesthesiologist regarding fasting prior to the surgery. 4. Regarding the routine medications, one should confirm if they must be stopped or continued prior surgery. Your anaesthesiologist will let you know if and when any medications have to be stopped prior surgery.\
