Dr. Susan Williams is the Head of Laboratory Services at SPARSH Hospital. She completed her graduation from MRMC Gulbarga, Karnataka and was awarded an MD in Pathology by the Rajiv Gandhi University, Karnataka. Dr. Williams has vast experience in working in rural areas as a general practitioner. During this period, she was attached to numerous rural primary health centres, delivering comprehensive healthcare to many villages. Dr. Williams was closely involved in delivering numerous government health schemes to the rural population under her jurisdiction. The schemes included Pulse Polio programme, Women’s Health and Family Planning, Anganwadi Scheme, School Health Checks, Leprosy and tuberculosis surveillance and nutritional assessment. As the Head of Laboratory Services at SPARSH Hospital, Dr. Williams monitors the functioning of the Pathology and Microbiology laboratory at SPARSH Hospital, Yeswanthpur, Infantry Road & Hosur Road. She strongly believes in maintaining and providing high quality and accurate laboratory services and hence lays a strong emphasis on the periodic calibration of instruments as well as continuous training of the laboratory staff. As the Head of Infection Control and as part of the Quality Assurance Team at SPARSH Hospital, Dr Williams ensures that asepsis is maintained in all sections of the hospital by strict adherence to established protocols and regular hand washing by all the medical and allied health personnel. The Quality Assurance Team focuses on patient safety and quality of healthcare based on the Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH).
