(name changed) from Sarvagnanagar was suffering from Covid-related anxiety when heavy rain inundated parts of the city in early September. She was stuck with her niece in their car for six to seven hours. This worsened her mental condition – from being a person who used to engage in panel discussions to becoming a recluse and restricting herself indoors.
Under medication now, Savita is progressing well. She is one among many residents in the city who continue to struggle with mental health problems post the flooding, even a month later.
