Dr. Anilkumar B U is a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Minimal Access Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Robotic Surgery. He completed his undergraduate medical education from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in 2011 and went on to obtain his DNB in General Surgery from the National Board of Examinations in 2016.
Following his post-graduation, Dr. Anilkumar worked at a high-volume surgical center in Vadodara, Gujarat, where he gained extensive experience and refined his expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery. He holds prestigious fellowships including FIAGES (Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons) and FMAS (Fellow of Minimal Access Surgery) awarded by IAGES and AMASI respectively. He has also completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery (FALS).
Dr. Anilkumar is an active member of several professional bodies including the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), AWRSC and the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS).
He is well-versed in basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures and robotic-assisted surgeries with special expertise in hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomy, anti-reflux (GERD) procedures and bariatric (obesity) surgery. He is also proficient in LASER treatment for hemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas.
His clinical interests include thyroid, breast, gastrointestinal surgery, trauma care and amputations. In addition to clinical practice, he has academic experience having served as an Assistant Professor at BGS GIMS Medical College. He has also contributed to medical literature with publications in reputed national and international journals.
